The Houses of Hope Africa were born out of the HIV/AIDS crisis in Africa. Local Police were trying to drop orphaned children off at the churches with whom we worked. The churches were not equipped to do residential care of these precious children. The pastors themselves asked if ALD would assit them in this daunting task. The first home was built in 2008 and opened in 2009 in South Africa.

The slideshow at the right is at the House of Hope in Whunga, Zimbabwe.
The movies show the construction of a multi-use pavilion in January of 2017 (music by Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Gospel Hits) and some of the children's playtimes.
